Uhm, it is only abuse if said child is not dysphoric and is being forced into being trans by a parent for the sake of “killin’ cis scum” and whatnot.
For a dysphoric child, hormones are indeed necessary to help a child cope with their dysphoria. That’s not abuse.
By this logic, giving a child with cancer a cancer treatment is abuse.
No, becuase we don’t have all the research done for this yet. It’s still very new. Don’t compare something we hardley know about to the plight of people who suffer from cancer.
"Something we hardly know of"? Trans people have been around for years. So has dysphoria. Hormones are a treatment for such dysphoria. Go look up "the pregnant man", for example.
If a child has dysphoria, it is only RIGHT that you give them the treatment they need, especially if the treatment.
You’re right that cancer is perhaps too strong of a comparison. Okay then, why not… hm, schizophrenia? You would not deny your child treatment for schizophrenia, so why deny your child treatment for dysphoria?
I only agree with the above image if people are trying to force cis kids into transness (which I’m willing to bet would actually cause dysphoria).
But otherwise, no. Don’t deny your child treatment that they need.
As someone who has repeatedly asked her anti-vaxx mom to give her a diagnosis (since she goes around saying I’m autistic JUST because I’m rather introverted when I’m not diagnosed) and proper treatment only to be responded with “Oh, but the symptoms match! I don’t need a dumb doctor to tell me what you go through! And you won’t need any silly treatment!”, I kind of understand how it feels to be denied things like that by your parents. Fucking awful.
Honestly there is far too much research going on to just give your child this treatment. There is research going on to see if it’s possible to balence out hormones to make them normal again, but you’re right, lets rush to judgemnt and treat someone who can’t consent for themselves.
